Priority Dashboard

Navigation

The priority dashboard provides you the opportunity to visually compare the relative scores for issues within a project. It can be accessed via the project-level Jira menu.

Filter

The multi-select options provide you the ability to filter priority dashboard issues by type and status within projects. These are multi-select options that constitute and “and” condition. For example, if you select “Bug” and “Backlog” for type and status, respectively, and apply the filter then only issues that match these two criteria will be displayed in the chart and list.

Multiple selections within the type or status fields are treats as “OR” conditions. So if you select “Bug” and “Story” for issue type and apply the filter, both bugs and stories will be displayed in the chart and list.

Chart

The priority bubble chart provides a visual mechanism to identify which issues you should consider to complete. Each bubble in the chart represents an issue and has been plotted according to the key prioritization framework dimensions, e.g. Desirability (x), Feasibility (y) and Viability (z).

You can quickly see key issues information by hovering over the bubbles, and if clicked a bubble will navigate you to the issue view in a new tab.

Typically, the issues you want to focus on are in the top-right quadrant (i.e. High Desirability and High Feasibility), however, the third dimensions shown by bubble size (i.e. Viability) should be considered as well. For more information on the current framework, see the DVF overview.

List

The priority dashboard displays a list of the project issues and their priority dimension scores. This list is a sort-able table that updates based on any filters that have been applied. To short the issue list, click a column heading and again to toggle between ascending and descending.

Data

If issues have missing data, the priority chart will display a message highlighting how many issues could not be displayed. This message provides a link to an advanced JQL search that will show a list of these incomplete issues.
